  • Distance Learning

    Also known as eLearning or online training. Taking a class or obtaining training via the Internet. Classes may be sponsored by a university, college, or other educational venue. ISM and NIGP provide distance learning classes for professional development. (Martin & Miller, 2006)
  • Distribution

    1. The movement of goods from the seller to the buyer. 2. The logistical aspects involved in the transfer of goods from manufacturer to end user.
  • Distributor

    An individual or business that buys and sells products from a manufacturer. Generally a wholesaler who may represent various manufacturers and maintains an inventory of material.

    Business entities including individuals that have challenges in becoming successfully established and gaining economic representation proportional to their demographic representation. Usually applicable to certain ethnic groups as well as the physically challenged and women-owned businesses. (ISM, 2000)

    Amount of corporate profits paid out for each share of stock. A distribution of earnings to the stockholders of a corporation. (Business, 2002)

    A charge for the use of a dock.

    CANADIAN Unique code showing requisition status.
  • Document Management

    The use of a computer system and software to store, manage, and track electronic documents and electronic images of paper based information captured through the use of a document scanner. Often referred to as Document Management Systems (DMS). (AIIM, 2015)
